Alien! Ogie Alcasid returns, Vice Ganda debuts in 'Bubble Gang' 30th anniversary show

MANILA, Philippines — Among all of Michael V’s characters, Mr. Assimo is the fan favorite to trade barbs with Vice Ganda, and the teasers for the show’s two-part special do not disappoint.
Philstar.com was among those invited to be part of the audience for the taping of the two-part special, and based on audience's response, Vice Ganda and Michael V’s official TV screentime warrants another project, with some of the audience shouting “Movie na ‘yan.”
In the teaser photos, Vice Ganda is seen in a flower shop with Michael V’s Mr. Assimo, the character known for its acerbic tongue, sharp rebuttal, and uttering the lines, “Hiyang-hiya naman ako sa’yo.”
Viewers who will catch the episode can definitely get the laughs — and will want more — as their banter will touch on today’s most talked about social issues.
Return of old favorites
Apart from Mr. Assimo, Michael V also donned the distinguishable white wig ala Saruman of Tatalino. The character whose, name means wisdom, makes an appearance in the episode. Tatalino talks to some of the beautiful faces of “Bubble Gang,” including Alma Concepcion and Ara Mina, who were part of the audience of the anniversary special taping held earlier this month in GMA-7.
One of the show’s most popular catchphrases, “Alien”, is resurrected with the return of the trio of Ang Dating Doon.
Writer-director Caesar Cosme makes his return in the parody to the religious program “Ang Dating Daan”. But this time, he is joined by Kokoy de Santos, who assumes the role of Brod Pete with that purrs and meows.
The audience had quite a laugh as they were served timely and relevant jokes that will surely make TV viewers agree with each punchline thrown in the segment. Imagine an audience involuntarily shouting “Alien!” with each witty barbs on topics closest to the Filipinos’ hearts and minds today.
The return of Ogie Alcasid as Boy Pick-up is another segment to watch out for since the singer left GMA-7 in 2013. Prior to leaving the network, he was part of the beloved gag show, taking on personas much like Michael V. He was part of the Yaya and Angelina skit and his own popular segment.
It’s not only Ogie who will be trading pick-up lines in the Pikapista battles, as a lovely familiar face, Neneng B, played by Sam Pinto, will join him in their return to the “Bubble Gang” stage.
The two-part “Bubble Gang” 30th anniversary special will be aired on October 19 and 26 on GMA-7.
