Dingdong Dantes, Kim Atienza run for ‘corruption-free’ Philippines

MANILA, Philippines — Dingdong Dantes and Kim Atienza led a group of celebrity runners earlier today, calling to end corruption in the country.
Atienza posted their group photo on Instagram.
Other celebrities who joined their run held in Ayala, which observes car-free Sundays, include real-life couple Kim Molina and Jerald Napoles, Benjamin Alves, Dasuri Choi and “Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre” star Faith da Silva.
“Nakikiisa sa bansa para sa pagbabagong totoo,” Atienza wrote in his Instagram caption.
Dasuri Choi, a Korean who has been living in the Philippines and has appeared in local shows, expressed support for Filipinos’ fight for change.
“Standing for truth and real change,” Dasuri wrote in the comments section.
Faith, who plays Sang’gre Flamarra fighting against an usurper to the throne of the fictional Encantadia, wrote her love for her country.
“Para sa mahal kong Pilipinas,” Faith said.
Today’s rallies in EDSA and Luneta are part of the movement calling for accountability and end to corruption. It coincides with the 53rd anniversary of the proclamation of martial law by Ferdinand Marcos Sr. on September 21, 1972.
