'Peak social commentary': Viewers react to Michael V's Sarah Discaya spoof
MANILA, Philippines — "Bubble Gang" aired the much-awaited "Ciala Dismaya" sketch led by Michael V.
In the latest episode of the show, Michael transformed into Ciala Dismaya during an interrogation from Sen. Espada (Matt Lozano), Sen. Markolekta (Betong Sumaya), and Sen. Minami (Annalyn Barro).
Ciala is with Sec. Kubra (Buboy Villar) and Cong. Kurakot (Kokoy De Santos).
Ciala was questioned about her construction business and luxury cars.
In a report by GMA News, Michael said that there is a clamor for them to do a sketch of controversial contractor Sarah Discaya because of the issue on government flood control projects.
"May clamor para dito sa character so we had to do it," he said.
"Feeling ko, kung makakatulong 'to sa pag-create ng awareness sa mga totoong nangyayari, sa issue na nangyayari sa bansa natin, e di sige. By all memes," he added.
Social media users were quick to comment on the anticipated "Bubble Gang" skit.
"'Bubble Gang' doing peak political and social commentary again. We are so back," an X user wrote.
"Watching 'Bubble Gang' para comedy naman kasi these past few days, medyo serious 'yung mga issues na nababalitaan natin. Da best ka talaga, Michael V!!!" another wrote.
A fan noted how Michael V inserted one of his famous characters in the weekly gag show, Mr. Assimo, who is described as an ascerbic-tongued, quick-tempered persona ready to lash out at anyone who sparks his ire or irritation.
"Havey na havey si Ciala Dismaya Birth Control hahahahah saka pagka-Mr. Assimo na dito. Hiyang-hiya naman ako sa'yo noh hahahahaha. Lakas ng trip ha," a viewer noted.
Another one applauded the cast of "Bubble Gang" for their attention to detail, referencing the Senate hearing last week on the controversial flood projects.
