Dingdong Dantes, Boy Abunda champion educational infotainment on TV

MANILA, Philippines — Two of GMA-7’s notable stars are batting for more educational and inspirational entertainment shows on TV.
Dingdong Dantes and Boy Abunda, together with former basketball player Chris Tiu, are championing the “Be Juan Tama” campaign.
The campaign aims to introduce and instill love for content that foster mental, emotional and social growth.
GMA-7 said in its release that the advocacy campaign “promotes learning through entertainment as one of the most effective ways to spread the right information, knowledge, values, and life lessons.”
It “reframes” the previous negative connotation of Juan Tamad (Lazy Juan), and puts him in a new light as Juan, who always chooses what is right (tama).
The campaign will not be limited to producing infotainment shows, but it will also be brought out to campuses where the primary audience, the Filipino youth, will engage with Dingdong, Boy and Chris.
The GMA Masterclass: Be Juan Tama Conversation Series will be held in various universities nationwide.
All three celebrities host their infotainment shows: Dingdong with “Amazing Earth,” Chris with “iBilib” and Boy with “Fast Talk.”
