MANILA, Philippines — Actress Bela Padilla confirmed she is no longer in a relationship with Swiss-Italian Norman Ben Bay, her boyfriend of nearly five years.

The actress announced she was single again during a press conference for her upcoming movie "100 Awit Para Kay Stella" last August 6.

When asked about her love life status, Bela smiled and said it was "non-existent."

Bela explained that a long-distance set-up and her return to the Philippines were factors in the split.

The actress moved to London, United Kingdom back in 2021 in the middle of the pandemic to study acting and writing but moved back to the Philippines to resume working full-time.

Norman was based in Switzerland throughout their relationship, though Bela noted the break-up was mutual and the two were on good terms.

In fact, Bela shared that Norman visited the set of "100 Awit Para Kay Stella" even after ending their relationship. “Dumalaw pa sa shooting. He was here and napasyal niya pa buong Pampanga. Hindi na kami noon.”

Bela also said they hung out during Norman's visit, and the same could happen if she flew out to see him.

The two initially met in Switzerland back in 2017 while she was shooting "Meet Me In St. Gallen," going public with their relationship in 2020.

The actress isn't rushing to get back into dating as she is currently directing her focus on work.

“Siguro after I finish promos first. Why not, I love falling in love. I don't think there is anything wrong with putting yourself out there,” Bela said, jokingly adding she doesn't know how to date anymore.

"100 Awit Para Kay Stella" is the sequel to Jason Paul Laxamana's 2017 film "100 Tula Para Kay Stella," with Bela and JC Santos reprising their roles alongside newcomer Kyle Echarri. The film is slated for a September 10 release.
