Viva’s next big leading man Lance Carr joins AshDres’ ‘Minamahal’

Lance Carr entered the chat!
Yup, you heard that right. While the Internet is still thirsting over Clyden Ramirez and Samantha Vera from the hit Wattpad-turned-series, “Avenues of the Diamond,” Lance Carr isn’t slowing down. In fact, he’s just getting started.
The freshly crowned heartthrob is now stepping into even bigger shoes (or should we say, cinema screens?) as he joins the much-anticipated Viva Films project, “Minamahal: Isang Daang Bulaklak Para Kay Luna,” top-billed by the AshDres tandem, Ashtine Olviga and Andres Muhlach.
I first met Lance earlier this year when he guested on “One Balita Pilipinas” to promote his “Univerkada” series. I was running late from another coverage and thought I’d miss the segment entirely. But just in time, I made it, and what a refreshing surprise it was.
Lance, alongside Aubrey Caraan, came in poised and low-key but with an unmistakable impact. No loud energy, just a quiet charm that lingered. That day, I knew this guy was going places, even though he had joined the series later than most. And clearly, he is.
Lance now seems poised to prove he’s got what it takes to stand toe-to-toe with the country’s most promising screen pair, and possibly shake up the love triangle dynamic we didn’t know we needed.
Lance, who first stole hearts as a “Pinoy Big Brother: Otso” housemate back in 2018, has been steadily building his résumé.
From supporting roles in “Bawal Lumabas: The Series,” “Beach Bros,” “Drag You & Me” and “Dirty Linen,” the boy-next-door has finally cemented his status as a certified lead with “Avenues of the Diamond,” a project that saw fans flooding Viva One and their social feeds.
That Wattpad-bred universe, crafted by Gwy Saludes and directed by Gino Santos, gave him his breakout role as Clyden Ramirez, opposite Aubrey Caraan’s Samantha Vera. The pair’s chemistry was electric — enough to catapult them into the hearts of Gen Z fans and the Viva fandom as a whole. Their passionate #LanceBrey fandom even surprised them with an electronic billboard screened along the iconic MOA Globe.
The series finale may have aired on July 25, but it seems Lance is only getting warmed up. No rest for the charming, as they say.
So, what’s next for the newest leading man on the rise? A project that comes with both high expectations and high-profile co-stars, as he shared when we caught up with him at Viva’s office just last week.
“Minamahal: Isang Daang Bulaklak Para Kay Luna” isn’t just another romantic drama. It’s the cinematic debut of AshDres, the portmanteau of Andres Muhlach and Ashtine Olviga, the Internet’s favorite girl next door.
Viva Films fans have been thirsting for a full cast reveal ever since the film was teased, and it seems Lance Carr just dropped the mic (and the flowers). In our exclusive chat, the actor shared,
“Excited na excited ako makatrabaho si Andres at Ashtine, kasi sila talaga ang rising stars ng industry.”
“First time ko rin ‘to working outside my usual circle. Usually kasi ‘Univerkada’ ang kasama ko sa work. So, this is really something new for me,” Lance said, eyes twinkling like a true fanboy-slash-co-star.
So, what role is he playing exactly?
“Ang character name ko is Eugene,” he revealed.
Okay, Eugene. Noted.
And when asked point-blank, “Are you going to be a love triangle here?,” Lance gave us a smile, a pause and a classic showbiz tease: “Abangan niyo na lang.”
Ayun na nga.
No need to read between the lines. The AshDres love team is clearly central to the plot, but Eugene’s entry might just be the plot twist (or third-wheel fantasy) we never saw coming.
And let’s be honest: given Lance’s steady rise and newly minted onscreen charm, we’re ready for whatever chaos — or kilig — Eugene is about to bring into Luna’s flower-filled life.
While fans wait for “Minamahal” to bloom in cinemas on Sept. 24, Lance will be making hearts flutter live at the “Vivarkada” grand concert and fancon on Aug. 15 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
It’s a fan-service extravaganza and a full-circle moment for Lance, who gets to celebrate his Clyden era with the fans who made it all trend-worthy.
More than the muscles, jawline or that brooding smolder he has perfected over the years (yes, we’ve noticed), what makes Lance’s glow-up remarkable is the steady work and humility behind it.
After his co-management signing with powerhouse Patty Yap and Viva Artists Agency (VAA), the doors just kept opening, and he’s walking through every single one like he belongs there. Because, truthfully, he does.
From reality TV to Wattpad royalty, and now possibly the other side of a big-screen love triangle, Lance is out to prove he’s not just another pretty face. He’s a star willing to do the work.
“Every project, I learn something new,” he said. “And with this movie, I feel like I’m entering a new phase.”
So, whether you’re Team AshDres, #LanceBrey or already mapping out fan edits for Eugene x Luna, one thing’s clear: Lance is not just rising. He’s fully in bloom. This time, with Aubrey, AshDres, and Viva backing him up, it’s clear he’s here to stay.
“Minamahal: Isang Daang Bulaklak Para Kay Luna” opens on Sep. 24. in cinemas nationwide.
