Why Emilio Daez is the one to watch

Newbies and promising talents attribute their entry into show business to different inspirations and aspirations. The latter range from artists that have paved the way for them to interests they wish to explore.
For “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition” housemate and ABS-CBN artist Emilio Daez, it’s his older brother, actor Mikael, and love for film and TV that piqued his interest to jumpstart a career in acting and entertainment.
“Of course, Mikael. I say this a lot, if Mikael Daez did not enter, I would not be in showbiz. He was definitely one of the big supporters of me joining showbiz,” answered Emilio to the question posed by The STAR in the recent contract signing event and press conference, which officially announced his brand ambassadorship for KFC. “But I’ve always had the passion for film and TV. You know, (when) the opportunity presented itself, I thought this was the best time to jump in and dive.”

And expect that Emilio has surveyed most film genres and seen a good number of them.
“I watch a lot of action, drama, romantic-comedies, thrillers. Honestly, I’m just a film enthusiast. So, I love watching all types of movies and TV shows,” shared he.
That definitely comes in handy now that he is involved in one aspect of it, which is acting.
“Well, I would love to do an action film,” said he of the project he would like to try if Star Magic gives him the opportunity to choose. “I’d love doing, you know, romantic comedies like what I’m doing now (and) dramas.”

He’s ready and up for the challenge of any assignment or role he’s asked to try out or audition for.
Emilio added that he’s very lucky “to have been able to play a kontrabida role in ‘Pamilya Sagrado’ and now my first lead role (in) ‘Love at First Spike.’ Honestly, I’d love playing both (the villain and protagonist roles). So, whenever an opportunity presents itself, I’m just so humble and thankful to have (it).”
Before the call of doing showbiz beckoned him, Emilio had an eight-to-five job like everyone else has. He worked as an investment banker for two years.
“I was a very corporate guy. I graduated (with a) degree in Management Engineering from Ateneo (de Manila University),” said he, who was very determined to become a CEO in the country back then, during the media call. But life had other plans for him, which offered him a new purpose and passion. It’s to entertain and engage people through acting.

“I was really lucky to get a call from ABS-CBN,” added he.
From there, Emilio has become a Kapamilya talent, who has displayed his acting and hosting skills, like in “Idol Kids Philippines (Spotlight)” and “iWant ASAP.”
What also makes this guy a standout and noticeable is his effortless amiable personality that perhaps emanates from his genuine smile. It’s infectious, as one may put it.
“I really want to lead a positive impact anywhere I go because, you know, I was fortunate enough to be nurtured in such a loving environment, positive environment, with my family. So, I want, you know, to give the same to the people around me because I feel, like, I’ve been blessed with so much, and I think it’s just right to share these blessings,” said he.
As a person, Emilio looks on the bright side of things.
“I really always try to focus on the positive even if there’s, you know, problems or negativities surrounding me. I always try to focus on the positive,” shared he.
A member of the brand’s publicity team says that KFC is the first endorsement project of Emilio, described as a rising star. A piece of information adds that the newest endorser “brings charm, authenticity and a strong connection with today’s generation.”
It adds that the fast-food restaurant “continues to push the boundaries of flavor and experience” and Emilio’s being part of the family “signals a new chapter” for the food and dining brand.
