MANILA, Philippines — Actors Jack Black and Jason Momoa had a lot freedom to improvise their fun dynamics while shooting "A Minecraft Movie."

The film is based on the popular sandbox game of the same name that allows users to create worlds with three-dimensional blocks.

It is currently the best-selling video game of all time, with almost 140 million monthly users as of 2023.

During a press conference held in Mexico City, Jack and Jason talked about how the comedic chemistry they have in the film was built.

Jack said he had lots of fun with the entire cast (which also includes Oscar nominee Danielle Brooks, "Wednesday" star Emma Myers' Natalie, and young actor Sebastian Eugene Hansen), and for him, it all started with Jason.

"When I heard that he was going to be in 'Minecraft,' I couldn't wait to get on the set and work with him," Jack shared.

But Jack wasn't sure if Jason would feel the same way, so he followed and messaged Jason on Instagram, asking if they were really going to collaborate and the "Aquaman" actor instantly replied, "Yeah bro, let's Minecraft."

The comedian admitted to being a fan of Jason and the energy he brings to all his movies, and told Jason how fun it was working with him.

"We went all the way, yeah we did bring more than just what was on the page," Jack told Jason. "I think we brought a little crazy spice to every scene."

Jason attributed some of the praise to director Jared Hess — who was also at the event — for encouraging spontaneity, pointing out the filmmaker has a good working relationship with Jack, after they have done "Nacho Libre" together.

The "Game of Thrones" actor admitted to enjoying improvisation and that "A Minecraft Movie" was his first straight-up comedy, then threw the support back at Jack, calling him "the legend."

"I've been a huge fan for many years, it really is a dream come true," Jason added, even saying he just watched "Nacho Libre" for the first time. "It's fantastic, I love it!"

Later, Jack called Jason "funny as hell," name-dropping his roles in the DC Cinematic Universe and "Fast and Furious" franchise, quipping that at times, Jason was funnier than him.

Jared pointed out the two actors had "the biggest mancrushes on each other" before shooting, even receiving messages asking about the other, and spread the love for the rest of the cast.

"A Minecraft Movie" premieres in Philippine cinemas on April 2, right after April Fool's Day.
