MANILA, Philippines — The eight-member P-pop group BINI was guest of “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” where the members addressed several issues linked to them, including the dating rumor between Maloi and Rivermaya frontman Rico Blanco.

Maloi was caught up in dating rumors with the singer-songwriter last month, and she immediately addressed it via X. She again talked about it in their TV guesting on Friday.

Boy asked her about how she addresses fake news.

“Parang hindi na siya mawawala as public figure. Parang may mga tao talaga na gagawa at gagawa ng fake news about you. And feeling ko, it just shows na you are relevant."

"Parang you just go with your life, do what you do, just do what you love as long as wala kang natatakpan na tao. Yung fake news, nandiyan na yan, e, so parang masasabi ko lang, stop spreading fake news this 2025. Stop it,” she said.

The host followed up by asking what was the fake news written about her. Maloi immediately answered about the dating rumors between her and Rico.

She revealed that it was the first meet-up between her and Rico and that they have common friends. They were invited by the latter to his La Union hotel, where photos of them went viral. Maloi explained that the photo might have been manipulated.

“Actually, nu’ng time na po ‘yon, dun lang 'yung first meet-up namin ni Rico Blanco, and ‘yung friends ko are friends din niya.

“Hindi ko alam kung paano nangyari ‘yon. Siguro, may videos ‘yung Blooms (BINI fans) na in-upload sa X and then na-crop siya, screenshot na parang bad angle, so it just shows na parang nag-holding hands,” Maloi said.

“In-upload sa Facebook, kumalat hanggang nagkaroon na ng mga headline. Nu’ng nakita ko ‘yon, nag-tweet po agad ako sa stop spreading fake news, kasi ayoko nang lumaki pa ‘yung gulo. Gusto ko nang linawin agad,” Maloi said.
