Vic Sotto: Enjoy and game responsibly

MANILA, Philippines — Vic “Bossing” Sotto reminded Filipinos to “game responsibly” as he was recently tapped to be the endorser of the online gaming platform PlayTime.

In a video message during the platform’s recent event, the actor-host-comedian said he was glad to be entrusted by the company to be its endorser.

“I’m also excited (about) what we can do to bring joy to the Filipinos. Kaya Pilipinas, ‘PlayTime’ na.”

“We know how Filipinos are fond of fun games. So to our ka-PlayTime, it’s important to just enjoy and game responsibly. Don’t forget to share your luck and blessings,” he added.

He further expressed, “It is truly heartwarming and a privilege to continue my mission to bring fun, entertainment and happiness (into) the daily lives of Filipinos, anytime and anywhere, through PlayTime.”

PR head of PlayTime Jay Sabale, a former Kapuso reporter, remarked that they selected Vic to be the brand ambassador because he is the “Bossing” when it comes to game shows.

“We are the fastest growing online gaming platform in the country. And who is the best representation of that? Nonetheless, it’s Boss Vic Sotto. Why? Aside from him being a “Bossing,” when it comes to game shows, he makes people happy (and is associated) with family, fun and everything.

“He is the first person that comes to mind. And at the same time, we, as being a gaming platform, we want to make people happy. Tsaka yung oras nila hindi kung saan-saan lang mapunta. It’s like, kung wala silang ginagawa, magpakasaya sila, make it meaningful, and of course, it’s Boss Vic. At the same time, as what Boss Vic said, ‘game responsibly.’ As you could see Boss Vic is a very, very good example of somebody who succeeded but (is) very responsible when it comes to his career and where he is now.”

Asked how they were able to convince Vic to be their endorser, Jay replied, “Just like we said, we are not endorsing this as a betting platform. We are endorsing this as a pampalipas oras, as entertainment. Kung ikaw wala kang ginagawa, you’re bored, in your house, this can be a good form of entertainment and of course, just what we said, if you’re gonna play, you have to play responsibly.”

According to Jay, they will have another celebrity endorser, apart from Vic. He didn’t divulge the name yet because they are in talks with their prospective endorser. “But this is another big name na hindi nalalayo kay Boss Vic, if ever… you’ll know soon.”
