Embarking on the journey of motherhood is still “fairly new” for Elisse Joson. The Kapamilya actress gave birth to her daughter Felize in 2021 with McCoy de Leon.

“It’s not really a new you but I still feel like this phase of my life is fairly new — being a woman and a mother. Entering motherhood is still something new for me and I think the timing is perfect to be able to launch New Moon because I really feel that newness of motherhood in me,” expressed Elisse who was tapped to be the health and beauty supplement brand ambassador of New Moon.

She admitted that maintaining the inner wellness is more difficult than that of sustaining the physical beauty.

“You haven’t noticed the outside (appearance). But of course, if you are a mother, the highs and lows, the extremes, you don’t usually see it, yung walang-wala talaga, the lows of the lows. What we see is the celebratory highs of life,” she pointed out.

“If you’re asking if is it tough to maintain the (physical) beauty, maintaining the inner wellness is more challenging. Because beauty comes out naturally if you’re happy inside.”

Elisse furthered that she makes sure to take a day off if she experiences the lowest points in her life. “I don’t force myself kung may gawin sa isang area because I know I’m not gonna be productive if there’s a problem. I give myself time to process and embrace it whatever it is, if I’m not feeling well,” she shared.

“And then the next day, I’ll feel better. A little better. And I have the drive to go through that day.”

When it comes to parenting style, Elisse said that McCoy is more disciplinarian.

But she is not the spoiler-type either, she added. “For now, I want Felize to enjoy her childhood and let her discover what she wants and doesn’t want. And then dun lang ako papasok kapag napapahamak na.”

She and McCoy are doing OK, she maintained. “We want to keep our private life, private. What you see is what we just want to share.”

Asked if they are going to tie the knot soon, she simply replied, “I think it’s gonna come when the timing is right. For now, I’m praying na ngayon masunod yung ating parang tamang pagkakataon and (there’s a) right time for it.”

Moreover, Elisse is honored and grateful to be entrusted by New Moon as the face of the brand’s Soft Glow, an affordable S-Acetyl glutathione infused with Vitamins C, D & E, Collagen and Zinc with oral sunblock and rosehip.

The brand’s management chose Elisse because “her lifestyle perfectly embodies what their supplement, Soft Glow, stands for. Despite her busy schedule, New Moon ensures she maintains that soft, radiant glow, making her an “ideal ambassador for our brand.”

“We’re drawn to her genuine and composed nature amidst the chaos of a busy life. It wasn’t just her captivating beauty that stole our hearts,” said New Moon in a statement.

“During the planning stages, we were all struck by Elisse’s relatable story as a working mom and businesswoman who skillfully manages every facet of her life with grace and unwavering dedication. We’ve seen her launch her own beauty and wellness business venture, a testament to her entrepreneurial spirit.

“This resonates deeply with the modern Filipina we strive to empower. Ultimately, Elisse’s down-to-earth personality and her triumphs as both a mother and an actress perfectly embody the strength, resilience, and beauty that define the Filipina today — making her the ideal choice for New Moon.”

She said she does her skincare routine regularly but stressed that “what really matters is how you take care of ourselves within.”

“And I’m so happy that I’ve been trying out this new product which is the Soft Glow, na alam mong even if you miss a couple of steps in your skincare routine, as long as you are taking care of yourself within, and taking these capsules regularly, you’re all set. You’re good to go.”

Asked by The STAR about her biggest insecurity in life, she stated that she had gotten way past the stage of dealing with her physical insecurity. “The insecurity that I could cite is like within myself, the battles within. For example, how I deal with problems or how am I going to mature in terms of parenting Felize. That’s the kind of insecurity that I have — having doubt as a mother and as a woman together.”

On how she deals with it, she said, “After you go through that deep blackhole na day or phase, you’re still there. You know to yourself that you’re the only one who can pick yourself up.

“I do pep talk to myself that those are just negative thoughts in your head and that I need to stand up for myself and believe in myself. Because there’s no one else who’s gonna do that than myself.”
