What Father’s Day will be like for Rob Gomez
For every bold decision, there is a consequence. Half a year after the controversy that actor Rob Gomez dealt with where he had supposed leaked conversations with certain female celebrities, he is still experiencing major drawbacks.
This coming Father’s Day, Rob shared the sad news with us that he still won’t be seeing his daughter Amelia, whom he shares with former beauty queen Shaila Rebortera. “Magtitirik ako ng kandila,” he said.
Ironically though, he did break the rather sad news with us at an event that he considered a very big blessing in his life. His management, Global Management Philippines and TCP Artists Singapore, announced an exciting new partnership, marking a significant milestone in the entertainment industry.
The collaboration aims to unite talents and opportunities from the vibrant nations of the Philippines and Singapore, enhancing the global entertainment landscape.
His efforts as a good actor are not left in vain as his “Mano Po Legacy” and “Magandang Dilag” stints at GMA Network are credited, and he is lined up for projects in Singapore soon.
“This is a kind of a restart I guess. To do an international project would be a dream come true,” said he.
Physically, Rob is leaner nowadays with all the preparations he has been doing for the possibilities of booking big gigs abroad.
“I’ve been running. I’ve been lifting. I’ve been getting back to the gym. Prepare and stay ready. I’ve also been playing a lot of basketball recently,” he said.
Rob shared that it’s pretty much the main action he has been getting because during his days-off he is legally fighting for his rights to see his daughter.
“I am doing everything legally just so everybody knows and my daughter would see this. Hopefully, one day she would see this, how much I’m working hard to see her.”
Rob reiterated, “All of my off days, I am working on getting to see her legally.”
At one point in our conversation, Rob said he has been stalking his daughter online and finding means on how to get information about Amelia’s daily schedule.
“Wala pa rin gusto mag-stay in the middle of us. Siguro natatakot sila na madamay sila ganoon or baka ma-post din sila or whatever,” he said.
Rob’s patience is running low, especially that his daughter is just a toddler and children grow up so fast.
“Sobrang bagal ng proseso. Parang lahat sila okay lang sa kanila na lahat ng oras nawawala pero sa akin hindi ho,” he shared.
“Ako lang nakakaramdam ng mabagal na oras. I exhaust lahat ng resources ko, lahat ng pwede ko mapagtanungan, mapag-hingian ng tulong talaga.”
His legal team is assuring him that he will see his daughter, but for the actor, he said, “It is true. It is a long life but I want her now.”
It’s Rob’s promise if the odds will be in his favor.
“I promise to be the same father I was before. Madamot po akong tatay. Hindi ko nga pinapahawak iyong nanay kapag nag-cigarette siya, eh. Papapaliguin ko pa sila. I promise to be the same man, the same father that I wanted to be ever since I had her,” the actor said.
Amelia is his No. 1 priority and will remain so, as per Rob.
He said, “It never left me. Down to my every step, every door I open, every time I talk to people, siya lang talaga nasa isip ko.”
