Andres Muhlach shares qualities he looks for in a girl
MANILA, Philippines — Given his good looks, natural charm and showbiz pedigree, it came as a surprise to the members of the media when Andres Muhlach revealed at a presscon that he’s never had a girlfriend since birth.
“I never had a girlfriend in my whole life,” stated the newbie actor in his first-ever solo presscon which followed after his contract signing with Viva Artists Agency (VAA) on Monday.
Viva executives — Val del Rosario, Veronique del Rosario-Corpus and Vincent del Rosario — officially welcomed Andres as the latest Viva Artists Agency (VAA) talent.
“I never felt that I was the crush or whatever. I never had a girlfriend. Of course, I’ve tried to date. You know I went on a few dates in my life but (nothing) ended growing into the relationship level. It never really reached there.”
The 22-year-old son of celebrity couple Aga Muhlach and Charlene Gonzales and twin brother of Atasha is the latest in the family to officially join showbiz following in his parents and sister’s footsteps. He was dubbed the “showbiz royalty, the prince of hearts, and a heartthrob.”
“I haven’t had a girlfriend my whole life, really. And I’m not saying that I’m looking for one right now. I’m more focus on work right now. In time, it will come. The right time. She will be there for me for sure. Sana di ba. But yeah, I’m just more focus on my work right now,” he continued.
So what are the qualities that he is searching for in a girl? He is looking for someone he can “enjoy spending time with” and who could make him laugh, he said.
“And also another important thing is like a girl that is very God-fearing and puts God first in her life. It’s a big factor for me because that just shows me that you know the fundamentals of how it is to be a (good) person.”
Andres felt flattered by the attention that he is receiving from girls admiring him.
“It’s very flattering. I’ve never ever thought of it that way, only as of recent. I started to see the love that people were giving me and the whole crush ng bayan (thing) and I really appreciate it from the bottom of my heart really.
“Growing up, I never felt like that. I never felt that I was pogi or parang… Totoo, totoo, seriously. Seriously, I never really… I just always thought you know what carried me as a person was my personality and that’s the way I’ve seen it.”
One of the celebrities that has been vocal about having a crush on Andres is “Eat Bulaga” host Ryzza Mae Dizon. The two first met at Maine Mendoza’s birthday party. The former also appeared in TV5’s “Eat Bulaga” and played in its “PERAPhY” segment.
“It’s very flattering and Ryzza is really a sweet person. She’s super nice. She’s a good friend of Tasha as well,” reacted Andres.
Just recently, Vice Ganda invited Andres to be one of “It’s Showtime” hosts since his sister, Atasha, is already part of “Eat Bulaga.”
Andres sees nothing wrong with it if ever he will be offered a job in “It’s Showtime.”
“I wouldn’t say it’s a problem, really. At the end of the day, we are all just trying to do our job or make sense of our job. So, I wouldn’t say that there would be a problem,” he shared.
The TV5’s upcoming sitcom, “Da Pers Family,” will be Andres’ first acting project where he will be joining the rest of the Muhlach family.
He will play the son of a baker who had to let go of his career as an animé artist to help in the family’s bakery business.
Andres’ parents Aga and Charlene will also play as his series parents. His sister Atasha will also play as his sibling in the show.
“Da Pers Family” will come out in May.
