For Carlo Aquino, Charlie Dizon is ‘The One’

But no, they’re not engaged. Not yet. That’s what Carlo Aquino clarified when we chatted with him at the Beautederm headquarters’ first anniversary event in Angeles, Pampanga, where many A-list endorsers graced the event.

By the way, we tried to talk to Sam Milby, who was also there, but he was not in a chatty mood to update us about the latest with him and fiancee Catriona Gray. But at least, Carlo was really in such a chatty mood that our conversation with him lasted for about 20 minutes. He credited himself with being more open as a person to his girlfriend and confidante, Charlie Dizon.

We pried about the rumored engagement because it got out in a showbiz vlog that Charlie was spotted sporting an engagement ring. To which Carlo replied, “Lagi naman iyan, tingnan niyo ngayon may suot din siya!” He was pointing to Charlie who went with him to the event. And then, I asked, “Galing sa’yo iyon (the ring)?” Carlo answered, “Hindi, hindi! Hindi galing sa akin (yung) suot niya.”

He even added to ask today’s bonafide Patron of Showbiz Chika, Ogie Diaz, who spoke about it in one of his content videos.

Carlo joked, “Hindi ko alam. Tanong niyo si Ogie. Siya yung nananaginip, eh! Si Mama O!”

But then again, when asked if he was at the right stage in his life to settle down, Carlo opened up and said that if he’s emotionally and financially ready to settle, “to get married? Yes!”

He also answered positively when inquired if Charlie is “The One,” “Yes!” As to when he will settle down, he shared, “Wala pa. Hindi ko pa alam yan kasi sana oo kasi ilan taon na ako. Ilan taon na rin si Charlie. Wala pa, wala pa, hopefully soon.”

There is a different energy when you see Carlo right now. He seems more at peace, definitely more relaxed than the press is used to seeing him. He said that things are pretty unproblematic and serene with Charlie around. He even shared the qualities that make Charlie “The One.”

“Siguro, day by day, hindi ko i-nexpect na ganoon, pero iba lang outlook ko ngayon sa buhay. Nagbago,” he said.

He also admired how outspoken of a woman Charlie is. Yes, they have fights like any normal couple would, but Charlie will see to it that they do not go unresolved, according to Carlo.

“Si Charlie kasi palaban kasi sa tamang paraan. Kapag kasama ko siya, ang gaan, ang sarap tumawa. Tsaka kapag may problema, uupuan. Pag-uusapan ng maayos,” he said. 

In other news, his love life is not the only one that is going well. Carlo is now enjoying more time with his three-year-old daughter, Enola Mithi. He told us how they would bond.

“Bonding with lolo and lola. Laro! Walang screen time! Sa bahay lang kami kasi hindi siya nakakapag-overnight sa bahay. Morning sunduin ko na siya and kailangan sa gabi hahatid ko na siya pauwi. Bahay lang kami at kapag andoon siya, nakakalimutan niya iyong ipad. Wala siyang device na hinahawakan kasi all day, sa kanya lang kami lahat. Ako, si lola, my mom and dad ko.”

Mithi has yet to meet Charlie, though.
