'Nauna sina Menggay kay Egay': 'Ninong' Joey de Leon defends Maine Mendoza, Arjo Atayde vs Noli de Castro tirade
MANILA, Philippines — It looks like "EAT" host Joey de Leon took a swipe at "TV Patrol" anchor Noli "Kabayan" de Castro after Noli's one-liner on the news program about the wedding of Arjo Atayde and Maine Mendoza.
It can be recalled that in the closing spiel of "TV Patrol" last Friday, the day of Arjo and Maine's wedding, Noli said that there are people suffering while there are people who are getting married.
“Kayo habang kinakasal, kawawa naman ‘yung mga binagyo,” he said.
In his Twitter account, Joey shared his sentiment on the issue.
"Sa mga kababayan nating ume-epal na hindi raw dapat nagpakasal ang dalawang ito dahil binabagyo raw ang bayan, eto lang ang masasabi ko — naunang nagplano sina Menggay kaysa kay Egay!" Joey wrote.
"Wala silang kasalanan kundi ang unang limang letra ng 'kasalanan'—- KASAL!" he added.
Apart from Joey, his fellow wedding godfathers and "E.A.T." co-hosts Vic and Tito Sotto congratulated the couple on their wedding. Vic simply said, "Congratulations," while Tito wished Arjo and Maine's family to be blessed.
