Baekhyun returns to the local concert scene after the EXO’s Exploration concert in 2019 and performs Betcha, Candy, Love Again, and Bambi for the first time.

The K-pop Overpass Music concert got Pinoy multi-stans feeling a mixture of emotions as they witnessed K-pop sensations B.I, Jeon Somi, and EXO’s Baekhyun perform live in Manila.

The concert, presented by Cornerstone Entertainment and OctoArts Entertainment, saw the three South Korean acts coming together for a one-night show on June 11 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The venue was filled with fans squealing in excitement while showing their all-out love and support as they saw their idols in the flesh. Throughout their performances, B.I, Somi, and Baekhyun repeatedly went down the stage to get closer to the fans.

When the lights dimmed, cheers grew louder as Kim Hanbin, known professionally as B.I, appeared on stage with four backup dancers, kickstarting the show with his 2022 single, BTBT (biteul biteul), then going straight down to ONE AND ONLY and WATERFALL.

The songwriter and producer’s rap and dance skills overflowed like waterfalls. His energy never dropped as he hyped the crowd who also matched his high energy.

B.I, who was just in the country last March for his solo concert, had an 18-track setlist prepared that included his other songs illa illa, TTM, MICHAELANGELO, and Cosmos, bringing the crowd to their feet and jumping along to his fired-up performances.

As his nearly one-hour performance drew to a close, B.I, delighted the audience with a TikTok cover of his recently released single, Dare To Love.

Somi makes her Manila stage debut special with her first-ever performance of the rock version of her all-English track Anymore.

“I feel so happy with your warm welcome. With your hot energy, I was able to perform feverishly,” B.I told concertgoers through an interpreter.

Somi, a stunner with her Barbie doll-like visuals, got the coliseum crowd singing along to her sassy breakup recovery song XOXO as her opener.

Somi made her Manila stage debut special with her first-ever performance of the rock version of her all-English track Anymore. She also performed What You Waiting For, Dumb Dumb, and Birthday.

While she had a shorter setlist, the former I.O.I member charmed the crowd with the Tagalog words which she wrote down a paper she literally kept on her chest.

Somi seemed to can’t get over the delicious taste of the mangoes she had on the eve of the show as she confusedly blurted out, “Mangga ko kayo!”

The adorable slip sent the crowd into laughter but Somi captivated Pinoy hearts with her cute “Hay naku!” expression — her favorite out of all the Tagalog phrases she learned.

It was Somi’s first time to perform in the country but interestingly, she shared, “The Philippines might be the first country I’ve ever visited.”

“My mom was pregnant with me and she came to the Philippines,” she explained.

The deafening cheers in the Araneta Coliseum reached the peak when it was finally time for EXO’s Baekhyun to perform on stage.

Greeted by the silver ocean of lightsticks, the main vocalist enthralled the audience with his ethereal voice and body rolls via R&B track UN Village.

K-Pop Overpass Manila concert marked Baekhyun’s first visit to the country four years after EXO’s Exploration concert in 2019.

The EXO main vocalist made Pinoy EXO-Ls long wait worthwhile as he performed Betcha, Candy, Love Again, and Bambi for the first time in Manila.

When he announced he was going to perform his last two songs, fans started chanting: “Walang uuwi! (No one’s going home!).”

“I can stay and not go home, but let’s think about it. I need to go back home, so together with other EXO members, we’ll come back here with more performances for you,” Baekhyun quipped through an interpreter, getting a wild response from the crowd.

“Babalik ako,” Baekhyun said earlier on, holding out a pinky promise to EXO-Ls.

“I love you all. Thank you,” he said before exiting the stage, sealing the vow to see his Pinoy fans once again with another pinky promise.
