Timezone launches new look, party venue, high-tech bowling and games
MANILA, Philippines — Family entertainment center Timezone recently introduced its new look, party venue and games in its Greenbelt 3 branch in time for the holidays.
High-tech bowling alleys, a spacious party venue, life-size horse racing, a watergun game for four, trending themed games like Nerf, billiards, hologram ticket vending games, talking ticket chompers, and a wide variety of claw machines and prizes ranging from Minions to Funko Pops, are just some of the new attractions in the newly revamped Timezone Greenbelt 3 that are yet to arrive in other outlets nationwide.
According to Timezone President and General Manager Raffy Prats, they have added 50 or so brand new amusement machines, making a total of more than 90, including short lane bowling, billiards, virtual reality (VR) games, premium karaoke rooms, party rooms and a large Prize Shop.
The four lanes of short lane social bowling have been exclusively manufactured for the brand, he said. He recommended the billiards hall for friends to unwind in after work, as well as a venue for quality family bonding time. Likewise, the VR Warship Simulator Ride brings thrilling adventures through 9D (nine-dimensional) virtual reality.
The newly refurbished entertainment center also boasts of new architectural elements designed by the company's Australian team, including soft-light neon lights for less visual overload and more leg room for game areas.
The Prize Shop allows guests to walk through the prizes area to redeem their prize. In lieu of traditional tokens, powercards are now in use.
“Powercards are much better than tokens as they are convenient, hygienic and modern – not bulky, heavy and unhygienic like tokens. With the option of upgrading to an RFID (Radio-frequency identification) tap card, guests can now tap their cards for an instant game credit compared to swiping them,” Prats explained.
He also revealed that while the majority of their players came from the 20 to 29 age bracket pre-pandemic, the patronage is even higher now – with all ages now enjoying the arcade center. As such, he foresees that family entertainment gaming in 2023 and beyond will continue to boom.
"A lot of players still like traditional games, like billiards and bowling are holding up pretty well to high-tech games as many guests still find these games as fun and engaging," Prats said.
But for today's more tech-savvy generation, the company recently launched its own Fun App available for download on both iOs Apple App Store and Google Play Store for Android. The mobile app enables guests and players to enjoy exclusive promos, earn rewards, play games and win vouchers.
“We recently launched our very own mobile app... which our guests can use to take advantage of exclusive promos and discounts and very soon, reload online. They can use the app to track their powercard balance, tickets and rewards as well. So far, after launching on November 16, there are already more than 30,000 guests who have been enjoying the app. They just have to stay tuned as there are many more surprises ahead for our mobile app users for 2023,” Prats enthused.
Timezone is touted to have pioneered the Family Entertainment Center (FEC) concept in the Asia Pacific region with its locations in Australia, India, Indonesia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam. For the Philippines, the brand is managed by Leisure and Allied Industries Phils. Inc., and is the country’s leading FEC with 41 venues and 65 satellite locations in the country.
