MANILA, Philippines — Former "Pinoy Big Brother" housemate Slater Young and wife Kryz Uy's seven-week-old baby Sevi is set to undergo an operation after being diagnosed with inguinal hernia.

According to the Mayo Clinic, "an inguinal hernia occurs when tissue, such as part of the intestine, protrudes through a weak spot in the abdominal muscles. The resulting bulge can be painful, especially when you cough, bend over or lift a heavy object. However, many hernias do not cause pain. An inguinal hernia isn't necessarily dangerous."

In her video blog on YouTube, Kryz talked about their baby's condition.

"Whenever he cries, it kind of triggers the hernia to bulge out and I know he’s not supposed to experience any pain when that happens, but it still hurts my heart to see it, so I can’t take it," she said.

"At the end of the day, you know, I still have one of life’s greatest luxuries, which is to be able to spend time with my kids," she added.

In the video's description, Kryz said that the operation is not "super rare" but she is worried because her baby is just seven weeks old.

"We have to go back to the hospital because Sevi boo needs surgery. He has inguinal hernia that requires closure as soon as possible," she said.

"It’s not a super rare operation. Thank God, but because he is just seven weeks old, I can’t bear putting him under this much physical and emotional stress. And siyempre as a mom, you can imagine how wrecked I feel," she added.

Kryz and Slater got married in February 2019. They have two sons, Scottie and Sevi. —Video from Kryz Uy via YouTube
