Tropang LOL addresses elephant in the room about back-to-back airing with It’s Showtime And so it begins today!
The whole team is now being watched on the Kapamilya channel and TFC and not just on TV5, from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. With its new timeslot, Billy Crawford and fellow hosts reintroduce themselves as Tropang LOL and not Lunch Out Loud anymore.

The historical back-to-back airing of noontime shows, Tropang LOL and It’s Showtime, all for the Filipino audience. It is no secret though that most of the Lunch Out Loud (LOL) team came from It’s Showtime or ABS-CBN and formed their own family via the young and successful noontime show on TV5. Explains how that signature humor and star factor in their segments Maritest and HOPE were familiar and quick to go viral.

The elephant in the room though is how the hosts of both shows feel given that the exit of many from It’s Showtime to Tropang LOL was of national interest and it even made headlines as it was not a good breakup, especially for It’s Showtime’s former director Bobet Vidanes, who now is at the directing helm of Tropang LOL. This also caused the hosts to gradually lose touch with one another and go on with their careers. Of course, we went to the pictorial and rehearsals of Tropang LOL earlier this week before it aired today.

Billy says that he has not spoken personally yet to former It’s Showtime colleagues Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis, and that Vhong Navarro is the only one he has an open line to

The whole team brought their A-game with them shooting spiels of invite to viewers as they are now also being watched on the Kapamilya channel and TFC and not just on TV5. Billy Crawford said that he has not spoken personally yet to former colleagues Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis, and Vhong Navarro is the one he has an open line to. “Si Vhong nakausap ko. Nagtawanan kami. Sabi ko batiin niya ako,” he said.

This seems to be the charm of Billy and Tropang LOL, who are always humble enough to welcome new changes in this ever-evolving and surprising industry.

“Nakakalimutan ng mga tao ng mundo na iisa ang industriya natin at ang manonood talaga dito ang tina-try natin pasiyahin,” said he. “I know one day, it’s gonna happen somehow at nagtatagpo rin kami.”

Tropang LOL moves to the 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. timeslot, that is why they reintroduce themselves as such and not Lunch Out Loud anymore. They will unveil a new set as well, and go live after more than two years.

Alexa Miro, now a regular host in Tropang LOL, has been linked to presidential son and congressman Sandro Marcos.

Many fans on social media expressed their happiness as it is different to experience the live banter of Billy, K Brosas, Bayani Agbayani, Wacky Kiray, Jeff Tam, KC Montero, Laboching, Isabelle Daza and Alex Gonzaga.

Now, they have a new mainstay host in Alexa Miro, who was just a regular guest before. If you haven’t been on the loop, Alexa is managed by direk Erik Matti and Dondon Monteverde and she is now a viral personality not just for her acting in A Girl and A Guy, but also because she is now linked to presidential son and Rep. Sandro Marcos.

“We’re just super close! Haha, showbiz!” said Alexa and added that they have been close since August but have known each other for more or less five years. Sandro even has things to say about Alexa’s career. “He’s very supportive! He also shares tips on how I should go about my career… nagbibigay lang din ng advice if I should go down this path, maybe you should limit this or maybe you can excel more in this area,” she said.

Going back to Billy, the host added that Tropang LOL feels nervous and pressured to up their ante and they welcome the back-to-back with arms wide open. Billy and the gang even promote it on air and in their social media accounts. He doesn’t have any hard feelings even if It’s Showtime is not doing their end of the bargain of camaraderie and is opting to not mention Tropang LOL.

“Look, at the end of the day, it’s a business decision. The guys up there are the ones calling the shots and tayo, we do our best in our jobs para pasayahin ang audience. Audience ang panalo rito.”

Bayani, who has made the rounds in all networks and has been to many noontime shows already, had this input as well, “dumating na sa panahon ngayon na tayo na mismo ang magtutulong, tulungan para lalo rin dumami ang trabaho.”

Tropang LOL airs Mondays to Saturdays at 11 a.m. on TV5.
