TV5’s Sing Galing Kids Jukebosses and Sing Masters (seated, from left) Jona, Ethel Booba, Morissette, Donita Nose, K Brosas, and Randy Santiago attend the media conference. With them are (top, also from left) “Arkidia Ates” Sing Galing’s Ultimate Bida-oke grand champion Mari Mar Tua, Queenay, Digiverse Master Zendee, Junior Singtokers Tyronia, and Yoyo.

The Jukebosses and Sing Masters of TV5’s Sing Galing Kids offered pieces of advice to the contestants during a media conference held recently at the Vista Mall Taguig.

Original Sing Masters, composed of Randy Santiago, K Brosas, and Donita Nose, will host the show’s latest edition, while Jona, Gloc-9, Morissette, and Ethel Booba will form the panel of judges.

“Whatever happens, don’t stop reaching your dreams,” advised Morissette. “In reality, hindi naman lahat nanalo but if yun talaga yung gusto mong gawin, just keep going. It is also important to be grateful to those people around you.” Speaking from experience, Morissette said she wouldn’t be where she is right now if it wasn’t for her family, supporters and team and for that, she is “super grateful” to them.

The Asia’s Phoenix also reminded the parents to not put too much pressure on the contenders and to just fully support their children. “Todo support lang po talaga. Kung ano yung nakikita nila sa bata, whatever their passion is, give them full support because mas ma-enjoy ng bata yung ginagawa nila and it will encourage them to pursue their dreams.”

Quoting the lesson she learned from Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Jona shared, “Never stop singing. We are imparting this to kids, win or lose, don’t stop singing. Also, be grateful for all the blessings that you have been receiving, especially to people who keep on supporting you to achieve your dreams. Be grateful sa mga sumusuporta at sa mga nagmamahal sa kanila.”

Also part of the show are Digiverse Master Zendee, Junior Singtokers Yoyo and Tyronia, Queenay and Sing Galing’s Ultimate Bida-oke grand champion Mari Mar Tua, who will be the “Arkidia Ates” of the kids.

Zendee stressed that the contest is just “for fun,” so “don’t pressure your kids to win.” “Kasi mostly sa mga bata na nakakausap ko takot sila baka pagalitan daw sila pag natalo sila tapos may nakausap din ako na ayaw niyang lumapit sa mama niya kasi hindi daw siya nanalo,” she shared.

“Just enjoy and support lang dapat. In every contest, may nanalo, may natatalo. So normal lang yan. Who knows, may bigger opportunities pa pala para sayo,” reiterated Zendee.  She further recalled the rejections she experienced in previous auditions but found her “luck” later on, “Kanya-kanyang swerte kumbaga,” added she.

Sing Galing Kids will start airing tomorrow (July 16) at 6 p.m. on TV5.

K Brosas disclosed that they have an in-house psychologist to counsel the children and a separate set where kids can play and have fun.

Ethel, on the other hand, advised the parents to “not force your dreams on to your children. ’Wag nating i-push ng push kung ayaw naman nung bata. If he or she wants to be an attorney, doctor, let’s support him or her because they will be successful with whatever passion they want to pursue, kapag gusto nila yung ginagawa nila and have the support of their parents.”

In terms of his style in hosting and approach in dealing with kid contestants, Randy said he just looked back on his previous shows. “So binalik lang namin papano kausapin ang bata na hindi mo naman kakausapin ng bata,” he told The STAR. “Yung sakto-sakto lang how you will talk to your kids. Yung mga anak ko are all adult na. Nakakatuwa lang kasi nakaupo lang kami, hindi naman kami nakatayo eh. Nakaupo kami while talking to the kids.”

The singer-actor and host also shared his secret to his decade-long career which is “tunay na pakikisama. ’Wag mag maramot kung ano man yung meron kang ibigay na pointers and everything. I’m very proud to say that all of us in the show merong ganung klaseng katangian.” Apart from that, he also cited that there’s “camaraderie” among his Sing Galing family.

During the mall event, the Jukebosses and Sing Masters displayed their singing and dancing skills to the delight of the mall-goers and fans who came to watch the three-hour program.

“Very thankful and blessed ako dahil ako ang napiling makasama dito sa Sing Galing Kids! Sobrang na-e-excite ako kasi cute na cute po ako sa mga bata,” enthused Queenay.  “Syempre, abangan niyo, may special role kami dine. Dapat n’yong abangan (yung show)! Nakaka-excite talaga.”

(Sing Galing Kids will air tomorrow, July 16, at 6 p.m. on TV5.)
