MANILA, Philippines — "Top Gun: Maverick" actor Tom Cruise celebrated his 60th birthday over the weekend in true action fashion as expected from a maverick like him, at the 2022 British Grand Prix.

Cruise is a longtime fan of Formula 1 and was at the Silverstone Circuit to support his "great friend" and seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.

PageSix reported that Cruise was with celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay before the race began, and watched the British Grand Prix from the Mercedes garage — the team Hamilton races for.

The entertainment outlet also said that Cruise spent time with actress Amybeth McNulty, who recently appeared in the latest season of "Stranger Things."

Hamilton has had a rough start to the season but finished his home race in 3rd place, just two and a half seconds behind Red Bull's Sergio Perez while Ferrari's Carles Sainz won his first-ever race since joining Formula 1.

The victories were overshadowed however during an incident in the opening lap when rookie driver Zhou Guanyu was clipped by Hamilton's teammate George Russell, resulting in his car flipping over and into the fences — but both drivers are okay.

After the race, Cruise stepped onto the racetrack to congratulate Hamilton on his podium finish, and the driver responded by greeting him "Happy Birthday" while embracing.

The celebrations for Cruise's 60th birthday actually started much earlier, as he and "Beauty and the Beast" actor Luke Evans watched Adele perform at the Hyde Park Festival — her first public concert in five years.

Cruise's latest film "Top Gun: Maverick" surpassed $1 billion at the global box office — a first for the actor — last week to become the biggest movie of 2022 so far.

He will next be seen in "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1" next year, while "Part 2" is currently in production in London; both films will be a send-off for Cruise's iconic character Ethan Hunt, a role he has portrayed since 1996.
