Vice Ganda makes surprise debut on campaign stage
MANILA, Philippines — Box office superstar Vice Ganda made a rare and surprise appearance at a campaign rally to endorse the presidential candidacy of opposition leader, Vice President Leni Robredo in Pasay City on Saturday night.
Vice, who performed a number before a crowd of more than 400,000 across Macapagal Avenue, wore a long train painted with the words "Leni Robredo is my president."
In his speech afterward, the "It's Showtime" host introduced Robredo said his performance is his birthday gift for Robredo, who turned 57 on Saturday.
Vice proceeded to raise her hand and said his vote for Robredo is his gift to the nation.
Vice said while rousing the crowd.
He added:
Vice, however, did not raise express endorsement of Robredo's running-mate, Sen. Kiko Pangilinan.
Prior to his debut appearance on the grand rally stage, Vice did not give out hints about his support on his social media accounts with tens of millions of followers.
Also making their first rally appearance in support for Robredo and Pangilinan are some of the country's biggest stars including Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez, Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano, Diamond Star Maricel Soriano and "General Luna" star John Arcilla.
