Politics takes a backseat for Alma Moreno

Alma Moreno might have some aloof bone in her body when it comes to granting intimate interviews, and we’re very happy to be one of the few journalists to corner her for a conversation on how she is doing at the moment.

We also got to talk about her film #Pornstar2: Pangalawang Putok, which dropped yesterday on the very successful streaming service Vivamax.

Alma was relaxed in her bedroom while she reminisced about her heydays being dubbed as the Sex Goddess of Philippine Movies and how her past roles were so simple compared to today’s risqué sequences.

“Ako kasi noong araw, youngest sexy star ako noon, ang bold namin naka-two piece ka, bold na yun,” she said. “Nabasa ka lang, yung puting suot mo medyo kita lang dibdib na see-through, bold na. Ngayon mas iba, mas matindi yung mga sexy scenes ngayon kesa samin, ah sa panahon ko.”

This year, Alma, who goes by the name Ness in her inner circle, did two films in which breakout stars were born amidst the pandemic situation of showbiz. She did the first installment of Darryl Yap’s sexy-comedy film Paglaki Ko, Gusto Kong Maging Pornstar with other sexy legends Rosanna Roces, Ara Mina and Maui Taylor, along with then newcomers Ana Jalandoni, Rose Van Ginkel and Aj Raval, who now rose to prominence, thanks to their early acting guidance.

“Natutuwa ako ‘pag nakikita ko yung mga batang nakakasama ko sumisikat, lalo na pagkatapos ng proyekto namin. Lagi ko lang silang pinaaalalahanan na manatiling simple and focused sa trabaho,” she shared.

Ness said that she cannot wait for more newbie stars to get noticed after her new film. The newcomers in #Pornstar2 are Sab Aggabao, Cara Gonzales, Ayanna Misola and Stephanie Raz.

The plot of the second installment starts with the legendary sexy stars of Philippine movies in search for the next Pinay pornstar. Alma, Ara, Maui and Rosanna are back to teach young and fresh faces the ropes of the industry. This time around, another sexy star legend, Lara Morena, will help recruit aspiring pornstars, who will undergo long, hard and strenuous training.

As of now, Alma is just enjoying the daily waiting for the next project that pleases her in showbiz. Though she joined LAKAS-CMD recently, she is really out of the political loop and just guiding her son Vandolph Quizon, who is gunning for his last term as councilor in the first district of Parañaque. If Vandolph makes it, he will be serving for three terms just like Alma, who is very proud of his son’s political achievements.

“Lagi kong sinasabi kay Vandolph, magtrabaho ka lang ng magtrabaho. Iyon ang naging sikreto ko noon kung ano ang kinampanya ko, iyon talaga ginawa ko kaya naka-nine years ako,” she said.

Alma is aware that she is one of the most targeted celebrities when it comes to memes because of her English-speaking skills. She said that even though she was quiet, she was hurt about it and that is one major reason that she wants to be on the down low at the moment. She also turned off the notifications of her celebrity group chats that have members fighting over which candidates to support in the upcoming elections.

“Maraming binato sakin. I’m sure alam mo lahat yung binabato sakin,” said Alma. “Nasasaktan ako para sa mga anak ko, pero kung ako lang, pake ko. Bahala kayo, masaya kayong tumira sakin, edi sige.”
