MANILA, Philippines — Mutya ng Pilipinas, Inc. announced new members of its management led by media celebrity and women empowerment advocate Cory Quirino as president and singer-composer-actor Ogie Alcasid as one of the Board of Directors during a press launch held last March 27 at Ascott, Makati City.

Best known as a television and radio lifestyle host and wellness guru, Cory brings with her six successful years in pageantry having produced world-class winners including one major international crown.

Fred Yuson, chairman of Mutya ng Pilipinas Inc., revealed the strategic move as “one which will positively secure the future of the organization.”

Bridging Mutya ng Pilipinas closer to aspiring candidates was the signing of MUO with the Liga ng mga Barangay headed by Kapitana Eden Pineda under the auspices of DILG Usec. for Barangay Affairs Martin Diño who both graced the affair.

The international search in Filipino overseas communities will continue with its existing partners abroad.

A welcome chance in the organization’s thrust is to discover other talented candidates who will be given the opportunity to become a movie or television star, model or career woman. For this partnership, arrangement was formed with the A Team president Ogie. He will also be tasked to be in charge of the production aspects of the Charity Gala Night and Grand Coronation Night.

Talks are also underway with ABS-CBN to open its door to talented aspirants who could possibly join the ranks of ABS-CBN Star Magic artists.

Meanwhile, the official search of Mutya ng Pilipinas begins in April, with the coronation night set in August (exact date and venue to be announced soon). The management is considering Smart Araneta Coliseum, where the first-ever Mutyang Pilipinas finals was held on Dec. 7, 1968 and won by Jane de Joya.

The 2019 finals will have a delayed telecast on the same date over ABS-CBN.
