Antoinette Taus recovering from chow chow attack
MANILA, Philippines — Actress Antoinette Taus is now recovering after she was attacked by a dog on Saturday.
In her Facebook account, Antoinette posted photos of the dog bites on her left forearm and said that the chow chow also bit her on her left thigh and right breast.
“I am currently confined and recovering from dog bites to my left forearm, left thigh, and right breast. I was attacked by a chow chow on Saturday evening while at a family wedding in Baguio. My left forearm suffered the worst and took two hours of surgery and suturing,” Antoinette said.
The actress also added that there was “some fat hanging out of the wound and I could even see the tendon in my wrist.”
“Luckily there’s no permanent damage and no arteries or nerves were harmed,” she shared.
She said her post does not mean to worry anyone, but she just wanted to give updates for those concerned because she has some events and meetings lined up this week.
“Praying for a speedy recovery and deeply grateful to the amazing doctors and nurses that have been so wonderful in taking care of me since I arrived,” she added.
The former child star also had an advice for dog lovers who want to own a chow chow.
“For those thinking of getting a dog, I have been told that chow chow’s are the number one breed known to be involved (in) dog bite cases. I am an animal lover and my natural instincts wouldn’t allow me to harm the dog that was attacking me. He is perfectly fine. But I am definitely traumatized most especially by the chowchow breed,” Antoinette said.
She pleaded that instead of buying expensive breeds, “please give some thought to adopting dogs.”
“Some parts of the US don’t allow dogs to be purchased in pet stores any longer. Please do consider adoption and give abandoned dogs a chance,” she espoused.
