Dayanara Torres says ‘salamat’ for progress against cancer
MANILA, Philippines — Miss Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres shared that her cancer is not spreading in her body and has not reached any of her organs.
In her Instagram account, Dayanara thanked her fans on Friday using different languages, but including the Filipino word “salamat” (thank you).
“I’m so Happy to give you some good news... last week's tests show that my cancer is not spreading & is not reaching any of my organs!!! Tomorrow, Friday I start my first radiation,” Dayanara wrote.
“I might get a bit weak & some muscular pains but I'm asking you... Keep Praying, keep having me in your Prayers. I am forever Grateful to all of you and the mountains you all are being able to move for me... With All of My Heart & Soul... THANK YOU,” she added.
Dayanara revealed last month that she has been diagnosed with skin cancer and is currently waiting for treatment.
The singer and beauty queen from Puerto Rico added on her recent post that all prayers made for her have reached her. She also shared a Netflix documentary “Heal,” which she said was recommended by people in social media.
“You guys recommended me to watch a documentary called: ‘Heal’ in @netflix it talks about the phenomena called "entanglement" and proves how so many prayers have reached me, even when I'm miles & miles away from you... Because we are all connected... it works,” she said.
Dayanara rose to fame in the Philippines after she handed her crown to 1994 Miss Universe Sushmita Sen in Manila. She became an actress in the country and was paired with Aga Muhlach in several movies. She and Aga used to date. She was also a pioneer host of ABS-CBN's Sunday variety show "ASAP."
