In photos: Vietnam’s H’Hen Nie stuns in ‘Year of the Pig’ shoot
MANILA, Philippines — After visiting the Philippines over the weekend, Miss Universe 2018 candidate H’Hen Nie shared some of her stunning Lunar New Year photos.
In her social media accounts, Nie first shared photos of her wearing a yellow Vietnamese traditional garment, áo dài by Aodai Thuy Nguyen. She also wore a yellow silk head piece that elevated her simple look.
Shot in a studio with a background of Pantone color of the year "living coral," the photos were taken by Milor Tran early 2019. Nie was also surrounded by figurine pigs to represent the "Year of the Pig."
Nie also shared another set of photos of her wearing red áo dài, also designed by Aodai Thuy Nguyen during the Lunar New Year. Nie was beaming with a wide smile in her shoot with floral accent.
The shots were taken by her friend Ngo Tran Hai An.
The Vietnamese beauty was styled by D2 Styling Agency, Tran Dat and Kiet Cao in both shoots.
In her Lunar New Year message, Nie wished everyone a happy and successful year.
“Happy Lunar New Year! Best wishes for a happy and successful New Year,” Nie said.
“Wishing you peace, love and laughter in the New Year,” she also said.
Nie shared that she was busy in the celebration of the new year bust she said there is still happiness in that.
Crowd-favorite Nie visited the Philippines last Friday to attend the Youth Congress of Francis Papua Papica Foundation Inc. in Naga, Camarines Sur. She was one of the guests along with another Miss Universe runner-up, Venus Raj.

Nie, who competed with Catriona Gray in Miss Universe 2018 held in Bangkok, Thailand last December, finished at the top 5 of the pageant.
The Vietnamese beauty queen is a member of her country’s Rade ethnic minority and also the global ambassador of non-profit organization supporting girls’ education and literacy, Room To Read.
