After figuring in ski mishap, Lea Salonga cancels HK, Singapore concerts
MANILA, Philippines — Grammy-nominated singer Lea Salonga announced that her upcoming concerts in Hong Kong and Singapore are canceled due to the injury she sustained from a recent ski accident in Japan.
On her Twitter account, the "Filipino Pride" wrote, "It is with a heavy heart that I must cancel my upcoming tour dates in Hong Kong and Singapore. As many of you know, during a recent ski trip in Japan I took a fall and broke my leg."
Lea previously said that despite her injury, all of her scheduled concerts will push through. Unfortunately, her doctors didn't allow her to travel for several weeks.
"While we initially hoped to be able to keep the appearances on the calendar, the injury is going to take longer than I expected to heal and my doctors have given me strict instructions not to travel for the next several weeks," she said.
She said the shows are being rescheduled and she's excited to see her fans very soon.
"Disappointing fans is the last thing I would ever want to do but I must take this time get back into top shape. We're working on rescheduling these shows and I can't wait to see you all very soon," she said.
Lea broke her leg while on vacation with her family in Hokkaido, Japan, to celebrate her and husband Robert Chien's 15th wedding anniversary. She posted a video on Instagram announcing the accident.
Apart from her concerts abroad, Lea will also be the special guest of international singer Josh Groban during his post Valentine concert in Manila on February 22.
