MANILA, Philippines — Kapamilya actor Coco Martin defended his longest-running primetime teleserye “Ang Probinsyano” after Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Oscar Albayalde raised concern on the show’s portrayal of corruption among the police.

He clarified that the character of the new PNP chief in the series, Soliman Cruz, is not the first chief to play the role as his predecessor was an ideal role model for the police.

Coco added that he does not want the issue to be controversial, so he is willing to speak with PNP officials to clarify things.

Recently, he posted on Instagram a photo of his teleserye.

“Pasensiya na po!” he captioned his post.
