Regine Velasquez vows: I'll be a Kapamilya 'forever'

MANILA, Philippines — Returning Kapamilya singer Regine Velasquez has a promise to ABS-CBN and her fans as she sang her hit song “Pangako” with different lyrics on “It’s Showtime” on Monday.

In a special number for the show, the “Asia’s Songbird” sang her hits together with TNT Divas, Jhong Hilario and Karylle. 

“Pangako magmula ngayo'y Kapamilya na ako panghabang buhay," Regine sang, replacing the original lyrics of her song “Pangako.” 

The lyrics drew cheers and applause from the audience as well as from the noontime show hosts.

Her husband Ogie Alcasid proudly cheered his wife on the sidelines while the singer was welcomed in “It’s Showtime.”

The special number started with TNT Divas singing Regine’s “Dadalhin,” followed by a duet of Jhong and Karylle singing, “Hanggang Ngayon.”

Regine then appeared on stage singing, “Shine.” She addressed her fans by changing the song’s lyrics to "I'm shining on it's all because of you." 

She then made a cover of the Up Dharma Down song “Tadhana,” before all performers came to the stage to sing “Pangako.”
