Janno a certified Kapamilya

Janno a certified Kapamilya
Janno Gibbs’ being young at heart also reflects in his first single Feeling JKL under Star Music.

After appearing in such ABS-CBN shows as ASAP and FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, Janno Gibbs is now a certified Kapamilya singer as he recently signed up with the network’s music label Star Music.

It’s a homecoming of sorts for the singer-actor and comedian whose tandem with Ogie Alcasid, via Small Brothers, was born in ABS-CBN. His return marks an exciting turn of his career with him articulating that it’s a good time to push himself to do something different. “I think I need to shake things up. I need to challenge myself.”

By challenging himself, Janno is bent on making his song compositions relevant to what are trending in this day and age of millennials.

Apparently, many people from the said generation are clueless that he is the son of veteran actor Ronaldo Valdez. Janno could only laugh about it and said that he knew the reason why “because some would say, ‘Ay, bakit mestizo (si Ronaldo)?’ or ‘Ay, bakit hindi matangos?’ Pero ito (referring to his nose) naman matangos, malapad lang (laughs).”

What cannot be denied is that Janno is the dad of two beautiful daughters Alyssa and Gab with wife Bing Loyzaga. The proud father shared some similarities with his daughters.

“The coolness and vanity, they got them from me obviously. The make-up styling and fashion, they would often tell they got them from me. I never had a stylist ever since. I do my own make-up. Alyssa is a lot more like Bing in looks but her character is very me. Si Gabby medyo hawig ko, hawig ng sister ko si Melissa pero ugali ng mommy n’ya.”

He also revealed that Alyssa is now engaged without him feeling any sadness about the reality of his daughters starting a family of their own someday.

“I think it was very easy for me to accept because the boyfriend (of Alyssa) has been part of the family for years already.” Even before, Janno was used to seeing suitors of her daughters visiting them at home.

Thus, he welcomes the idea of becoming a grandfather in the near future by humorously telling that being a lolo won’t affect his looks.

His being young at heart also reflects in his first single Feeling JKL under Star Music.

“Feeling JKL actually means feeling JaDine, KathNiel and LizQuen, the loveteams I mentioned in the song that I also composed. If you listen to the song, it speaks of love appropriate for my age because I am telling that I’m not young anymore but whenever I’m with my love, it feels like the first time.”

He continued by singing, “Feeling JaDine ‘pag ikaw ang kapiling. Feeling ko ako’y si Daniel at ikaw si Kathryn, feeling LizQuen like I’m young all over again ‘coz whenever I’m with you feels like the first time…”

At the end of the song, Janno said that he also mentioned other loveteams like MayWard, JoshLia and Kimerald (perhaps, Janno doesn’t know that it’s now KimXi).

But he definitely knows how to keep his marital relationship intact. Never mind if Janno and Bing were reported, for so many times, to have broken up. Problems crop up at times but Janno said that they were able to patch things up.

“Apart from love, I think the keyword is respect that’s what keeps us together. ‘Pag may kasalanan ako tya-tyagain ko ulit, manliligaw ako.” And it worked since the two didn’t give up on each other even while there was a controversy involving Janno whose alleged sexy photos circulated online.

Janno said it’s not him and he found it funny to a certain extent. “Nakakatawa lang na, ako? But it was embarrassing for me because of my kids. Probably if I am single, I’d just let it pass but I have two girls. There were two photos, definitely ‘yung isa ako because of the face but the other one, I don’t know. I felt offended. It was foul.”
