In photos: Halloween bash to launch ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina'

MANILA, Philippines — Halloween came early as streaming giant Netflix Philippines hosted a dark and scary good party for the 16th birthday of Sabrina Spellman, the leading lady of its upcoming series this Halloween.

The online streaming firm on Wednesday launched its much awaited series, “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (CAOS)” with an epic Halloween birthday bash.

The party was held at 20:20/ XX XX, where the venue was transformed into the magical world of Greendale.

Guests were asked to wear their “witchy” and “badass” best for the event.

Some celebrities and influencers who attended were dressed as the notable characters from the show such as Sabrina, the three weird sisters and the Dark Lord, among others, as they strut their stuff at the Dark path. It’s the black carpet lined by row of numbered gravestones, representing the thirteen dead witches of Greendale.

The party also featured the iconic eerie old apple tree, Malum Malus. This tree holds many secrets in the show.

Aside from the Malum Malus, the Greendale venue also featured a gothic-style glam shoot area where guests posed wearing costumes which include Sabrina’s striking red coat, witchy black cloaks and the CAOS vartisy jackets.

Guests also got to enjoy spooky treats such as deviled eggs, eye meringue, Sabrina’s lambanog, finger prosciutto, cupcakes, among others.

Since the party launches CAOS, guests are also treated with the screening of the first episode of series inside the spooky Spellman Mortuary’s embalming room. The room was decked out with mortician tools and gruesome body parts that left guests frightened.

Hidden cameras were set to record the scary good experience of the guests as the “body” on the embalming table came to life.

CAOS features the life of young woman, half-human, half-witch Sabrina, as she begin her dark education as sorceress. As she turns 16, Sabrina struggles to maintain her normal sophomore life at Baxter high while also being forced to take on her dark baptism to fully embark in her witch life.

The series is streaming exclusively on Netflix starting October 26. — Rosette Adel
