At this stage in her life, Yayo Aguila says she feels fulfilled already

With a career that spans almost four decades, Yayo Aguila believes she has seen it all. Yet, even with a lot to look back at, Yayo prefers to always look forward. At this stage in her life, Yayo says she feels fulfilled already, yet she still pushes for more.

“We must never stop dreaming and aiming to reach our goals. And as we go along trying to achieve these, we must also be good people,” says Yayo, who was named Best Supporting Actress for the indie film Kiko Boksingero at the Cinemalaya 2017.

The mother of four knows how important it is to take care of herself at her age.

“I run, I play tennis and badminton. I do Zumba and abs exercises. I eat healthy, I cut down on meat and I eat less. I don’t smoke. I see to it that I do my cardio every day. I’m hypertensive and under maintenance meds that’s why I’m particular with taking care of myself,” adds the veteran actress who just recently finished guesting for T-Rex’s Class of 2018, which is an official Metro Manila Film Festival entry. She is also filming All Souls Night of Aliud Entertainment and Viva Films, and Ten17P’s Siszum.

Yayo tries to de-stress by going out with her friends to talk, chill, have drinks and eat. Her friends know that she is the type who is easy to please and easy to get along with. She can be quiet at times but can also be rowdy around people close to her.

“I learn so much from my friends and they are my stress-busters. I love laughing with them,” says Yayo. As for her love life, Yayo says it’s zero.

“Sorry, nothing to talk about. I don’t do dates. It is not so much of a priority for me,” Yayo says. Right now, she’s focused on her family — her three girls are all working already. Her only son is soon graduating from senior high and Yayo is excited for this new chapter in her boy’s life. As she says, she is a simple person with simple dreams for her kids. The hands-on mom cooks, does errands herself and attends to her children’s needs, even now that they’re grown-ups.

Through all these, Yayo is certain that her faith has taken, is taking and will take her to great heights. She believes in the power of prayer.

Yayo has been in showbiz for decades, and she’s still a sought-after artist. She is sure to remain so because she is a happy person who wants to spread good vibes to everybody she meets.

“I want to be a blessing to every person that I meet every day. I want to be good at what I do at work and go places and be able to inspire others both as a mother and as an actor,” ends Yayo.
