Alice Dixson Belofied

When Alice Dixson agreed to grace the cover of FHM magazine in 2013, she unwittingly paved the way for women her age neither to be afraid nor to be ashamed to show their body.

“I feel sexier now,” she was quoted in the cover story, “I’m more confident about my body, about myself in general.”

And now, thanks to Dr. Vicki Belo for making Alice look even sexier and younger.

In the following Conversation, Alice revealed the procedure that made it possible.

How did you feel when you faced the mirror as soon as you woke up this morning?

“I woke up this morning and went straight to taping so I didn’t really see myself until I started my make-up at around 8 a.m. So how did I feel? I felt normal but they did tell me on the set and everybody noticed how nice my make-up was. But I told them it wasn’t my make-up, it was because of Ulthera actually. It has been about a month now since my treatment and it really improved the fullness and glow of my face.”

At what point in your life did you realize that some parts of your face and neck needed enhancement?

“Well, I would call it special attention, hehehe!!! I sought out Dr. Vicki for some answers two years ago regarding my wrinkles… the wrinkly skin under my chin right above my Adam’s Apple and neck.

“Also, I noticed my ‘jawling’ cheeks and my marionette lines or laugh lines became deep. She recommended Ulthera. It was about six months later that I was able to actually have the procedure done, so my first procedure was in June 2017 and this year, about one month ago. I did my second Ulthera and both treatments really were for lifting and tightening of my skin.”

How was your experience with the Belo treatment?

“The Belo Clinic recommended to me that in order for them to deliver the optimal number of pulses without me feeling uncomfortable, I should do it sedated. So tulog ako. That’s what I did. I had some lab requirements done, then on the day, I didn’t feel anything at all although the following day there was swelling which was expected. I also did Inara para maalis agad ang swelling. I’ve been doing Belo Ulthera Plus for a month now and I notice that the ‘jawling’ of my skin has improved. Less sagging and it looks fuller.

“The texture also improved like now there’s glow. Another thing is, my laugh lines nag-diminish siya. I like to laugh and smile since I’m a happy person. As you age, lumalalim pala ‘yon and I’m really happy that my procedure reduced the depth of my laugh lines. Lastly, ‘yung meron akong mga loose skin underneath my skin, the one under my chin and my neck ­—  it improved so those are the things that I’m very happy about with the treatment.”

Aside from being “Belofied,” what are your other beauty regimen and practices?

“I watch what I eat because everything you consume has a direct effect on you and your skin. I take supplements like vitamin E, try out face masks, eye creams, things like that. I also do facials because ma-alikabok sa Pilipinas and I have to wear make-up during my shoots so it helps me unclog my pores.”

At your age, how else do you make yourself competitive with women younger than you are?

“I don’t really compete with anybody else. I am my own person. Rather, I look at outdoing myself to make me better or the best person that I can be. I really think that it’s kind of unproductive to actually want to be like someone else. Uhmm, parang inggit, because I always say this and people laugh because it’s true. The saying is, Comparison is the thief of joy, so I don’t like to compare myself or the things that I have with other people. With that, I am fulfilled and happy.”

What is your current state of the heart?

“I am quite happy and we… Maybe I’ll just keep that to myself. Hahaha!!! That’s it.”

What advice can you share with women your age?

“I believe in aging gracefully. However, there is a possibility to delay, hasten or reverse the signs of aging. I would encourage other women who want to look and feel good when they reach a certain age and they want to continue to really look their best to not hesitate…especially when you are in your 40s and you’re not as young as you used to be.

“And when you work in an industry that is quite competitive, you always want to look and feel your best. I’ve said earlier that you don’t want to compare yourself with other people because everyone has her own special and unique qualities. So, it’s really a personal choice. If you think this would be a benefit for you, then go ahead and do it.

“I just wanted to encourage all the women out there — career women, family women, who are thinking about Belo Ulthera Plus.
