MANILA, Philippines — A month after her epic performance with international pop stars Jessie J and Coco Lee for Chinese singing contest “Singer 2018,” Filipina chanteuse and “Singer 2018” contender KZ Tandingan still feels nostalgic of her opportunity to compete with Jessie J in the contest.

In a recent press conference launching her management Cornerstone Entertainment’s partnership with Kwai for international talent search “Super K Star,” KZ shared what she learned from Jessie J.

“As Jessie J always told me nung nasa ‘Singer 2018’ ako, ‘yung mga rankings didn’t really define me as an artist. They only helped me become stronger and they only helped me grow as a person and as an artist,” KZ said.

She also shared what she learned from the contest.

“Nung nandun ako, I already felt like a winner. Kasi ang daming mga bagay na I did for the first time like learning Mandarin and ‘yung mga kanta na ginawa ko performing for people coming from different backgrounds, coming from different cultures.”

If given another chance, she would love to join the contest again, and other international contests, to represent the Philippines.

“I think, lahat ng opportunity na dumating na pwede kong ika-grow as a person and as an artist ay tatanggapin ko.”

KZ gave pride to the country when she became the first Filipino contender in “Singer 2018.” During her initial performance, she defeated Jessie J and won the number one spot.
