How single mom Bettina Carlos marks Mother’s Day

MANILA, Philippines — Kapuso actress Bettina Carlos has an advice for her fellow single parents this Mother’s Day.

In a recent interview during the Cheez Whiz event in SM Megamall, Bettina said being a single mother is hard, but in God’s will, she and her daughter can make it through. 

“Magdasal kayo at i-embrace niyo ‘yan. Because God always has a beautiful purpose putting you in that situation and I also wouldn’t have it any other way. I enjoy it with all the challenges and all the difficulties because I know God has a good reason putting me here,” the Kapuso actress said.

As mom to seven-year-old girl Gummy, Bettina said she  will spend Mother’s Day with her daughter, mom and grandmother.

“We’re gonna dine and watch the ‘Lion King’ and buy her toys. Then will spend the day with my mom and my lola. All four generations of us. For me, I give her a token because I’m a mother because of her. A simple gesture lang.”

When asked if her daughter is asking about her father, the actress said she knows she has to tell her somehow, but it needed to be in the proper time.

“Being single parent, that’s really one of the moment they dread. Kung hindi tatanungin ng anak nila, sana hindi nalang talaga, pero you know we are responsible for it because it will complete them eh. That’s the piece of the puzzle of their life na we cannot forever withhold from them because it will complete them. Sabi ko naman sa kanya, ‘Anak, I will tell you when you’re older’.’”
