Off-duty Bato goes on date with wife at Ed Sheeran Manila concert
MANILA, Philippines —Last Sunday was date night for Philippine National Police Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa as he was in the audience at British singer Ed Sheeran's concert.
Bato attended Sheeran’s comeback concert with wife, Nancy.
“It’s just us,” the PNP chief said in Filipino.
In a light moment prior to the concert, the couple told reporters that their favorite song of Sheeran's is the hit single “Perfect.”
Bato joined thousands of fans who filled the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds to witness Sheeran perform for his Divide Tour Manila leg.

During his concert, Sheeran thanked his Filipino fans for spending their Sunday night with him.
Several celebrities also watched Sheeran’s Manila concert.
Among the celebrities seen in the crowd were Kapuso and Kapamilya stars Carla Abellana, Julia Baretto, Gabbi Garcia, Judy Ann Santos, Ryan Agoncillo, Robi Domingo and Donny Pangilinan, among others. Vicki Belo, Hayden Kho, and Jinkee Pacquiao were also among the audience.
Last year, Bato was also spotted at the front row of the Big Dome watching the concert of Canadian rocker Bryan Adams.
Bato was previously criticized by House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez as being more interested in having a showbiz career, singing videoke and watching concerts than being a police officer.
However, the PNP chief shrugged it off saying criticism is part of being in public service. President Rodrigo Duterte extended Dela Rosa's term of office as PNP chief and he is expected to head the Bureau of Corrections next.
