WATCH: Thor enters battle arena in 'Thor: Ragnarok' teaser trailer

MANILA, Philippines — The official teaser trailer of Marvel Studios' "Thor: Ragnarok" has been released on Monday.

In the teaser trailer, Thor played by Chris Hemsworth go up against an old friend.

Directed by Taik Waititi from a script by Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost and Stephany Folsom and Eric Pearson, "Thor: Ragnarok" picks up after the events of "Avengers: Age of Ultron."

In the film, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok—the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization—at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela (Cate Blanchett). But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger—the Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo).

"Thor: Ragnarok" also stars Tom Hiddleston, Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban with Ruffalo and Anthony Hopkins.

Aside from the teaser trailer a brand new poster on the Asgardian god in his gladiator garb has also been released.

"Thor: Ragnarok" is set to hit Philippine theaters on November 3. It is distributed by the Walt Disney Company (Philippines).
