Why Mother Lily made Papa P cry

MANILA, Philippines - At the presscon for Northern Lights: A Journey to Love the other day, Regal Matriarch Lily Monteverde delivered an opening speech that made Piolo Pascual, everybody’s Papa P, openly cry.

Papa P is the lead actor of the movie directed by Dondon Santos shot mostly in wintry New Zealand late last year and partly in Alaska to catch the magical Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis). Papa P’s Spring Films is co-producer of the movie with Regal Films and Star Cinema, showing nationwide starting next Wednesday, March 29.

In her speech, Mother Lily noted that Papa P is virtually a Regal Baby, having done the Regal romance-drama I Think I’m In Love with Joyce Jimenez 14 years ago, adding that she was happy that Papa P has made a journey back to Regal.

According to Mother Lily, Papa P endeared himself to the production guys by sharing his talent fee with them. “His eyes speak of sincerity, his heart is filled with compassion for others,” said Mother Lily.

That was when Papa P cried.

After the presscon, Papa P thanked everybody, making special mention to Lolit Solis against whom Papa P and Sam Milby filed and later withdrew a libel case for a case that is better forgotten, and did selfies with almost everybody.
