Marvel Studios has unveiled the action-adventure “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’s” second trailer.

MANILA, Philippines – Marvel Studios has unveiled the action-adventure “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’s” second trailer.

In its new trailer, new characters such as Baby Groot and Mantis were introduced. Peter Quill’s (Chris Pratt) father will also be revealed. The character will be played by Kurt Russel.

The new trailer was released in anticipation of the earthbound release of the film on April 26. The first trailer featuring Baby Groot was released early December.

Apart from the trailer, Marvel Studios also launched a new Guardians poster featuring the intergalactic misfits. 

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is written and directed by James Gunn.

The film marks the return of the original Guardians, including Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord;  Zoe Saldana as Gamora; Dave Bautista as Drax; Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket; Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot; Michael Rooker as Yondu; Karen Gillan as Nebula; and Sean Gunn as Kraglin.  New cast members include Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan and Russell.

Set to the backdrop of "Awesome Mixtape #2," Marvel’s "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos.

The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Quill’s true parentage.

Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to the heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.

The film will be distributed in the country by Walt Disney Studios Philippines. —Rosette Adel
