Moose Gear kids tell all

MANILA, Philippines - While a number of their older counterparts seem to dilly-dally when answering queries during interviews, Star Magic kiddie stars Mitch Naco, Josh de Guzman, Jana Agoncillo, Marco Masa, Ashley Sarmiento and Marc Santiago speak their minds and mince no words without losing their sweet and amusing persona. At a young age, all of them show certainty on what they want.

No one did ever think twice about telling, in all honesty, matters concerning their budding career, fashionista favorites and, well, showbiz crushes.

Ashley boldly told everyone during the launch of Moose Gear’s 2016 Holiday Collection that they will reach superstardom just like the apparel brand’s former celebrity endorsers Angelica Panganiban, Patrick Garcia, Janella Salvador, Billy Crawford and Nash Aguas.

“Magiging sikat din po kami,” said Ashley, which made everyone smile and agree that it is not a far-fetched dream since the nine-year-old Star Magic talent has what it takes to be a star. Ashley, for those not in the know, had displayed her dramatic chops in Flordeliza and every Sunday, it is her comedic flair that shows in Goin’ Bulilit.

Marc, on the other hand, is happy about becoming part of the Moose Gear family “because they’ve probably saw in us the potential to be a big star, di ba po lahat ng nauna sa amin sikat po hanggang ngayon.”

When it comes to dressing up, not one of them are too dependent on their parents anymore. They know how to properly dress up in every occasion. Marco shared that he usually wears what is comfortable. But during tapings, he lets the director decide on what he has to wear.

“I’m not picky with clothes. I will follow whatever the director asks me to wear, hindi ko po siya mapipigilan kung anong gusto n’ya kaya susuotin ko na lang po baka po kasi hindi na n’ya ako kunin,” he added.

Jana agreed by saying that she, too, follows the director’s orders “because I can still wear what I want in other occasions.”

Ashley prefers stretchable jeans and denim sleeveless tops when going out with her family.

Asked about their favorite stars when it comes to stylish dressing, all five have their own idol.

“For me, Sandara Park is my favorite because there’s a pop of colors in what she wears,” Mitch said.

Vhong Navarro, on the other hand, tops Josh’s list. “Gwapo siya pumili ng damit at astig din po s’ya tulad ko.”

Janna loves everything about Janella’s simple yet appealing fashion taste. “My idol is Janella kasi hindi po siya maarte; kahit anong ibigay sa kanyang damit susuotin n’ya na wala siyang ire-request.”

Marco and Marc find Luis Manzano and Enrique Gil as “simple pero astig manamit” while Ashley loves Taylor Swift’s get-up.

Everyone burst into laughter when Jana revealed who she admires dearly. “Si Xavi po yung anak ni Tita Sylvia Sanchez (and Art Atayde) kasi ang galing po niyang mag-English!”

The kids’ straightforward answers turned a drab afternoon into a lively affair, proving once more that children bring pure joy to the heart.
