Philippine bet wins Miss Grand International 2016 1st runner-up
MANILA, Philippines – Philippine bet Nicole Cordoves on Wednesday (Philippine Time) won the first runner-up title in the Miss Grand International 2016 pageant.
Miss Indonesia Ariska Putri Pertiw was crowned Miss Grand International 2016.
Miss Thailand Supaporn Malisorn, on the other hand, placed second while Miss United States of America Michelle Leon was the third runner-up. Landed on the fourth place was Miss Puerto Rico Madison Anderson.
During the question and answer portion of the top five candidates, they were asked to choose between USA presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, to help stop the war on violence.
Cordoves and Leon picked Trump and got booed by the audience while candidates from Puerto Rico, Thailand and Indonesia chose Clinton.
This was the first time the Philippines joined the said pageant, which is now on its third year. The final show was held at the Westgate International Theater, Las Vegas.
Cordoves is working at the Department of Finance.
