Orange Blush moves to the big city

DIRECT LINE - Boy Abunda - The Philippine Star

Joby Linsangan-Moreno, owner of the Orange Blush chain of salons, would always be asked when she was going to put up a branch in Metro Manila. After all, she had built up the salon to be a successful business in Nueva Ecija and nearby provinces: Eventually, it would be time to introduce the salon and its services to clients in the big city.

That time has finally come. In July, Joby is opening the first-ever Orange Blush salon branch in Metro Manila. It’s been a long time coming for clients who’ve wanted to try the salon’s services but could not do so because they live and work here.

Joby, who was born and raised in Nueva Ecija, opened the first Orange Blush salon there in 2003. She recalls how it came about: “It was already a small salon by then, owned and operated by a hairstylist and two other junior stylists. It was about to close down due to financial difficulties, and I was at that time, looking for a place already to put up my own small salon since I had always been interested in the beauty business.”

Although Joby took pride — and still does — in Orange Blush being a proud and successful probinsyano brand, deep in her heart, she realized that inevitably, the day would come when she would have to expand the reach of the business outside Nueva Ecija either through franchising or putting up new company-owned branches. So she and her staff put expansion plans in motion as early as last year.

Since the beginning, Joby’s vision was to put up branches in the Central Luzon area first, where they are from, saturate it and become the best hair salon in the area. “Then the plan was to move to conquer the metro, carrying with us that unique and probinsiyano brand that we represent,” she explains.

Now, they are all set to launch a branch in Spark Place Cubao and even have special promos. These include an opening promo of P20 per haircut if a customer wears orange (this will go on for three days following the opening, she says); anybody who comes in with an Orange Blush salon flyer will get a 25 percent discount in the newly-opened salon; a Loyalty Card that entitles the customer to a free hair treatment on the fourth visit and a free manicure and pedicure on the eighth visit.

“There will also be freebies to be given away during the opening,” says Joby.

But that’s not all. Joby also shares that the first franchise salon of Orange Blush will open in Bambang, Sta. Cruz, also in July with three more franchises to open soon.

With this move to the big city, Metro Manilans will finally get to experience the kind of impeccable service that Orange Blush has become known for in Central Luzon. Joby and her staff are looking forward to welcoming clients and having them try their rebonding services, their manicure and pedicure, hair treatments and hair coloring, and the money-back guarantee. Orange Blush is one of the very few (if not the only) salon that is so confident about the services it offers that it has a money-back guarantee in case customers are not happy with the service. “Meron po warranty ang lahat ng customer ng Orange Blush,” Joby adds.

The maverick businesswoman and beauty advocate is excited over what else is to come for Orange Blush salon for what remains of 2016. “I have high hopes and dreams for Orange Blush Salon and with God’s help and promise, I shall keep the faith and stay optimistic, and shall keep doing my very best, because there is nothing impossible for someone who has a dream; who believes in it, and who dares to achieve it!”
