Chiz will make it up to Heart

The love note (right) that Sen. Chiz Escudero recently sent to his wife Heart Evangelista said it all.

With the campaign officially over yesterday, Chiz should start making up for lost time with Heart, promising to be “sweeter, gentler, touchier and more loving.”

The couple might just repeat their romantic “escapade” during their courtship days ­— you know, hire a jeepney that will bring them (together with Chiz’s twins) around the city.

“We did it during our first date,” Chiz recalled when he guested on Papa Jack’s radio program. “I learned that Heart hadn’t ridden a jeepney so I hired one and we toured the UP campus. Ako kasi sanay mag-dyip when I was studying in UP.”

Heart and Chiz haven’t had a real honeymoon after they got married in February last year. Maybe this time, they might have one. Better late than never.

Despite her own busy work schedule, Heart campaigned for Chiz every time she had free time. She pitched for Chiz on a sortie to Bicol and thanked reelectionist Gov. Joey Salceda for supporting the Grace Poe-Escudero tandem.

In her newest soap on GMA, Juan Happy Love Story, Heart plays what she described as “somewhat naughty and sexy” role opposite Dennis Trillo. Luckily, Chiz is not the jealous type (as he said in an interview with The STAR, “We don’t meddle in each other’s job; I understand my wife’s showbiz job”). Chiz said that he has seen the soap’s trailer and liked it, adding, “actually, I haven’t seen her love scenes in her past films because every time we watched, she would cover my eyes para hindi ko makita ang mga kissing scenes nila ng leading men niya.”

Incidentally, it will take a little more time before the construction of Heart’s house is finished. Meanwhile, she and Chiz are living apart (five minutes away from each other’s place). They’re okay with “sleep-overs” for the meantime.
