WATCH: Celebs gush over 'Star Wars' at movie screening

MANILA, Philippines - Even local celebrities are not immune to the Force.

A number of stars and TV personalities were among the fans who gushed over "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" during a screening last December.

The screening, sponsored by Globe Telecom, was among the first in the country, a day before its release on December 17.

Among the stars who attended the event include actress Bangs Garcia, TV personalities Pamu Pamorada, Paco Evangelista, Bryan Santos, model LA Aguinaldo and reporter Marie Lozano.

The "Star Wars" fever is not yet over as it returns to local theaters on Friday, January 7 after the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival ends its run.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens has recently surpassed the box office earnings of movies "Titanic" and "Jurassic World" and is poised to overtake gross earnings of "Avatar" as it opens in theaters in China later this week.
