Tales of love and family

How many times have you loved and lost? Many times, you would answer, and yet would still insist on trying it out again and again. This appears to be the theme behind ABS-CBN and Dreamscape Entertainment Television’s newest offering And I Love You So. With Angeline Quinto delivering the theme song, it gives viewers an idea of what to expect.

Stars are Julia Barretto and Miles Ocampo together with Dimples Romana and Angel Aquino. And I Love You So tells the story of Trixie (Julia) and Joanna (Miles) who will find themselves being pitted against each other.

Soon, they become rivals in everything that they do, including falling for the same guy Justin (Iñigo Pascual). And to make matters worse, they will find themselves living together under the same roof as stepsisters.

As if this wasn’t enough, Joanna’s mom Michelle (Dimples) and Trixie’s dad Alfonso (Tonton Gutierrez) find each other again after years of separation. Alfonso takes this as a sign for him to ask Michelle to marry him although he knows that Trixie will never approve of it.

Of course, this is not the end of the story. Starting to live their lives as one happy family, Katrina (Angel), who is Trixie’s mom as well as Alfonso’s first wife, returns after having abandoned them all years ago without any explanation at all.

Katrina is now determined to win back everything that Michelle has taken away from her, and this means her daughter, her husband and her wealth.

Part of the cast of And I Love You So are Benjie Paras, Jay Manalo, Nikki Valdez, Dante Rivero, Kenzo Gutierrez and Francis Magundaya. Writer is Keiko Aquino and Noreen Capili, under the direction of Onat Diaz and Jon Villarin.

Many questions still remain unanswered. How will Michelle deal with the family she has longed for? Will Trixie and Joanna treat each other as sisters? Or will their past rivalry make this impossible?

During the presscon, the audience had their own comments that included that this seems to be the most challenging role for Julia so far. There was also a question for Miles and Julia — if they were friends in real life to begin with. They answered that participation in the show made them even closer than before. Dante (who portrays the father of Nikki) observed that somehow in the series, the conflict is different.

And I Love You So is expected to touch the hearts of all viewers.
