Filipino winners at Manhattan Filmfest

MANILA, Philippines - Louie Ignacio (far left) won Best Director (Global) and Epy Quizon (left) Best Actor at the just-concluded Manhattan International Film Festival. Ignacio for Asintado (which also won Best Actress/Global for Aiko Melendez) and Quizon for Unlucky Plaza (entry from Singapore) directed by Ken Kwek. Ignacio received the award for Aiko.

Other Filipino winners were: Yolanda by Krizia May Villanueva, Best Student Film; Albert Chan Paran (for Julie), Best Actor Short; Lihis (directed by Joel Lamangan), Best Ensemble Cast Feature; Sundalong Kanin, directed by Janice O’Hara and produced by Sheila Bugia, Best Feature Film (Global).
