MANILA, Philippines — Kris Aquino backing out of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) may be the best thing that could happen for fans of Maya and Ser Chief.

According to a report by Vinia Vivar published in the tabloid Pang-Masa, Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap will replace Kris and Herbert Bautista in the MMFF movie "All You Need is Pag-ibig."

It can be remembered that Kris announced she is backing out of the movie, to be directed and co-written by Antoinette Jadaone, last week.

Star Cinema, the movie's producer, is yet to make an official announcement about "All You Need is Pag-Ibig." However, Richard hinted in an Instagram post on Monday that he will be doing a project with Jodi soon.

"Ito na ba ang hinihintay niyo... Abangan," he said in his Instagram post.

Jodi and Richard worked together in the daytime TV series "Be Careful With My Heart" as Maya and Ser Chief from 2012 to 2014. They were supposed to be part of the 2013 MMFF with a movie adaptation of their TV show; however, due to the cast's busy schedule at the time, the project was canceled.

This year's MMFF has had a number of cast changes and additions since the lineup was announced in June. Most notable was when Jericho Rosales replaced JM de Guzman in the romantic-comedy "Walang Forever, while Cesar Montano replaced Robin Padilla in the action-suspense movie "Nilalang."
