Of poses, palettes and pudding
MANILA, Philippines - Modern Living TV (MLTV) has an interesting line-up of topics this weekend as it airs everything from art and cooking to yoga and interior design.
Well-traveled Filipino artist Pamela Gotangco Hupp is back in the Philippines for her first solo exhibit. Pam draws inspiration from her colorful life and describes her style as fun, figurative, and feminine, but not without the underlying intent to question a woman’s role in the society she lives in. Her latest collection echoes trending socio-political issues, presented in a subtle, yet solid approach. And it’s all in MLTV.
A lot of things happen not only physically but emotionally to a would-be-mother in the nine months of pregnancy. Her psyche is most important, too, and so MLTV’s segment on prenatal yoga is just perfect for her. Learn why prenatal yoga is one of the safest and most effective work-out regimen for soon-to-be moms. Its active and dynamic movements combined with meditation and relaxation techniques promote general health for pregnant women and prepare them for the often difficult process of giving birth.
Watch also how common desserts like brownies and bread turn into heavenly delights in the hands of Casa San Luis’ Carmela Villegas. Have a slice or two after yoga and “om” turns to “yum!”
Last but not least is a feature on the marriage between clean shapes of Scandinavian furniture and the warm palette of Filipino design. In Philux’s latest collection called Scandiniana, main designer Jessica Kienle worked with hard woods melded with woven materials as accents. The result is sleek, modern and versatile furniture pieces suited for smaller spaces.
Modern Living TV is hosted by Bianca Gonzales and Stephanie Zubiri-Crespi. The show airs Saturdays at 10 a.m. with replays the next day at 6 p.m. both on ANC Channel.
