It’s Showtime ‘anim-versary’ preview in ABS-CBN trade event

Giving advertisers a glimpse of how the sixth anniversary show of It’s Showtime will look like this coming Saturday in Araneta Coliseum, ABS-CBN surprised the attendees of its Shine, Kapamilya trade event at the Marriott Grand Ballroom when the wall covering the stage was lifted slowly and gradually revealing the grand stage set-up. 

Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Billy Crawford, Vhong Navarro, Karylle, Jhong Hilario, Kim Atienza, Jugs Jugueta, Teddy Corpus, Ryan Bang and Eric Tai shone on stage as they all rendered outstanding individual performances. 

Right after the powerful opening act, ABS-CBN unveiled its new shows that are sure to hook more viewers before the year ends. 

Aside from It’s Showtime and Your Face Sounds Familiar, Billy will also be hosting a new game show titled Celebrity Playtime, which will highlight stars playing a mix of popular and unique party games. 

Soon to add kilig to every Kapamilya’s morning are reel and real-life sweethearts Erich Gonzales and Daniel Matsunaga as they both star in ABS-CBN’s Be My Lady, a series that will tell the charming love story of a foreigner and a Filipina. 

Joining the two lovers in making the night more romantic were Cristine Reyes and Zanjoe Marudo who will both star in Tubig at Langis, a series brave enough to tackle marriage problems. 

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN also introduced two series that will share stories of different family set-ups — And I Love You So topbilled by three promising teen stars namely Julia Barretto, Miles Ocampo and Iñigo Pascual and You’re My Home led by big stars Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta and the newly-formed love team Jessy Mendiola and JC de Vera.

Adding a classic feel to the event was the special tribute to the late Fernando Poe Jr., the original star of the movie Ang Probinsyano. Also the first FPJ classic to be re-made as a teleserye, Ang Probinsyano the series will star Coco Martin and Maja Salvador. 

The trade show also refreshed the advertisers with existing shows that continue to shine in terms of ratings.

Jodi Sta. Maria and Ian Veneracion of Pangako Sa’yo graced the stage, adding a dreamy vibe to the show.

The OTWOListas in the crowd screamed joyfully upon seeing James Reid and Nadine Lustre on stage. The love team filled the ballroom with romance as James and Nadine sang the theme of their well-loved series On the Wings of Love.

The surprises didn’t stop as Dawn Chang and Zeus Collins of Pinoy Big Brother 737 (PBB737) performed their trending dance act live. The two were allowed to go out of the house just to be able to perform for the guests of the event. The PBB737 teen big four namely Bailey, Jimboy, Franco and Ylona also rendered a fun dance number for the guests.

Making the dance floor sizzle more were Pasion De Amor stars Jake Cuenca, Ejay Falcon, Joseph Marco, Ellen Adarna, Coleen Garcia and Arci Muñoz.

Capping the night with throwback hits were Your Face Sounds Familiar judges Gary Valenciano, Jed Madela and Sharon Cuneta and ASAP 20 artists Martin Nievera, Angeline Quinto, KZ Tandingan, Klarisse Ocampo and Jason Fernandez.
